A Brief History
Our family lived in Bergen, Norway for six years when I was coaching a professional basketball team and during our stay we fell in love with their majestic Golden Retrievers. One day as we were hiking in the mountains, we met the most lovely dog we had ever seen. It turns out the young pup belonged to the finest breeder in Norway and we jokingly said “We will buy one of her pups some day.”
Years later we kept our promise and purchased Floien (pronounced Floy En). We named her after a mountain we lived on and hiked often.
Not only are these Goldens beautiful, they are truly fantastic family pets. Great with kids, calm, easy to train and very loving. We used to have a black lab which we loved much and also competed in Field Trials. The demeanor, temperament and train-ability between our Goldens and the traditional American Lab is like night and day. A stern look and whisper will do the trick with a Golden from Norway.
You can learn more about these pups on the About the Pups page.
